What do you think about texting in general? Why has texting become so popular? Has it replaced the use of calling people as your major form of communication? Some say that texting while driving should have as much as a punishment as drunk driving...do you agree?

  1. Texting is popular because all the kids are doing it and everyone wants to fit in .In my opinion I do think that texting has replace the calling. Usually everywhere you look there people texting and not having their phones on their ear. Now when it comes to driving and texting there should be a huge punishment just like drinking and driving. It causes as much danger as being drunk. However people should not be on their phone while driving anyway.

  2. I personally love to text. I always have my phone by my side. It is never out of my site. But I believe that texting became so popular because it is more quiter to tell someone something rather than calling them. Plus a lot of people dont like to talk on the phone as it is.

I don't believe that texting while driving is as bad as drunk driving but, i do think that it is a huge rick factor. People are always all over the road due to not paying attention. But if you are going to text when your driving, just stop and pull over. Instead of possibly taking someones life. Including maybe your owns.

  3. I think texting is one of the best inventions out there. It is better to text than to talk at times because sometimes you are at places that are too loud to be able to hear. If you are with your friends and don't want them to hear your conversation, texting is there. I don't think it has replaced talking on the phone because sometimes a conversation is more personal to hear the other persons voice. I most definetly think that texting should be the same charges as drunk driving because it could have the same or even worse effects as the drunk driving.

  4. Well in general i love to text, you will never find me with out a cell phone in my hand. Texting has swept the population because it is a quick and easy way to tell some body some thing, and some people hate calling and being on the phone. Many people have unlimited texting so they do not want to waste their money and minutes on calling some one when texting is so much easier and more acceptable now a day. Also cell phone services keep coming up with new and more advanced cell phones that have all new concepts and ways to text. Obviously they show them on commercials to advertise people see them and then buy them for them reasons.

I do not agree with the punishment of drunk driving for texting. Every body does it. They should just be fined or some thing along the lines of that. If you are not able to do both at the same time then dont attempt it. Some people over stress the need of this.

  6. to me i think texting is kind of dumb why press a whole bunch of buttons when you could hit like two and your talking to your friend. i would say it has replaced calling just for the fact that kids can do it in school without teachers knowing. I think texting and driving should get the same punishment as drunk driving just because if your staring at yor phone you really aren't paying attention to the road so how are you susposed to know if your gram is crossing the road in front of you?

  7. I belive that texting while driving is something that should be illegal. how can u drive a car without even looking at the road? The severity of danger when a person is driving, is as great or greater than durnk driving. i belive that the punishment for texting while driving should be a moderate fine. this should not be tolerateded and put an end to.

I think that texting is a good way to communicate with friends, and family. Everyone in the U.S. either knows about texting or does it. I think that texting has replaced the use of calls for communication. I also think that texting while driving should be as much as a punishment because while driving and texting it takes your eyes off the road and you cannot see on coming traffic, and were you are going.

  9. I personally like texting. I think it has become so popular because it is easyier and more fun. It has replaced calling people as a major form of communication.
I agree with that punishment because many people recently are getting injured in car accidents from texting while behind the wheel.
