  2. They held a memorial service for the marine. His family made the service open to the public and the cathedrial was filled with people.

  3. This is really touching and sad, I think its pretty amazing how he saved his friend and took his own life when they were ambushed. You really are lucky to meet people like that, its hard to find people who would risk their own life to save yours.

I think this man is a very brave man and should be honored. I think all our prayers should be with the family of this young man also.

  4. i think that it was a selfless act to sacrifice himself to save twelve others, also i think it was a good idea that the family changed the service from private to public to let people show their appreciation and sympathy

  5. i think it is very cool that people who didnt even know him showed up to his memorial service. i think it is sad though that he died at a very young age serving his country.

  6. It's happy to hear that there were people there that didn't even know the soldier, but still went to pay respects for him and his family and friends. But it is very sad to know that this hit so hard to home and that a soldier lived so close but now he's gone. I feel that the ceremony was very nice and really helped pay respects for him and all he has done.

  10. The way the family has choosen to honor their sons death was rather interseting. At first, they were going to have a private service, but in the end they decided that they were going to open it up to the public for them to show their appreciation. There was flowers everywher and the altar was rather bare. But the family recieved many cards from people in the town and friends of the family. As the father looked up the asile at the casket he said the worlds "I love you" and he said back to himself "You too".
