Major Supreme Court Ruling Changes U.S. Elections



A major Supreme Court decision will change the way campaigns for Congress and the President are run. 

Supporters of the decision have called it a victory for free speech.  Opponents say that it will allow corporations and unions to drown out the voices of average Americans. 

Read the summary article and the two opposing editorials linked in this post.  Then share your opinion on this sure to be controversial ruling.  Do you think this a good or poor decision by the Supreme Court?  Why?

  1. I do think that it was a poor decision by the supreme court. I believe that it was a poor decision because now the people who have the most money will have the most influence on political views.

    I think that it will allow big businesses to drown out the voices of average americans. It will allow the big businesses to have a higher advantage on who they want picked for some thing political. They could put so much money into a campaign to make their person seem better.

    Although it could be a good thing and help out with money issues? But im all for being against it.

  2. I don't agree with this decision because this is going to make a huge swing in elections. The "big" buissnesses are now going to be able to basically rule the elections. Its a bad idea.

  3. I dont agree with this because i think that its going to change te way people campain. Instead of being more positive advertisments i think there going to turn into negitive one. And last reason is more people are gonna attack other people.
